NEVADA TEST SITE
The 21st scheduled shot of the Summer 1957 Nevada series, code named Newton, is now scheduled to be ready for firing at 5:30 a.m. PDT Sunday, Sept. 15, at 1500 feet above Area 7b of Yucca Flat.
The experimental device, designed by Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, will be suspended from a 75-foot diameter balloon.
Design yield of the device is above nominal.
There will be several associated civil effects experiments under programs that have been conducted since early in the series, none will involve the use of animals.
Twenty-five Air Force aircraft will participate in training and support missions.
